Mosaic Art - Beginner to Advanced Live Online (Zoom) Art League of Alexandria / Torpedo Factory

Build a strong foundation in the ancient art form of mosaics using modern tools and materials. Learn everything from setting up your workspace to displaying your work. Learn to cut glass, properly adhere to your tesserae, and finish your work for best results. Planning, design, selection of materials and use of hand tools will be covered. Fabrication techniques and tricks of the trade will be discussed.  New student kits can be ordered from the instructor or acquire your own tools and materials (list will be provided). All skill levels welcome.

Micro Mosaic Jewelry (ONLINE workshop)

Create beautiful modern and traditional micro mosaic jewelry using a variety of methods and materials.  Mediums include micro tiles from Turkey and Morocco, vintage rhinestones, paua abalone from New Zealand, Italian filato, smalti gold and more.  A materials list will be provided.  If you prefer to get a kit from the instructor, click on the kit link below to see what is included. Classical Mosaic in Unglazed Porcelain Live Online (Zoom) Art League of Alexandria / Torpedo Factory 

Unglazed porcelain comes in beautiful subtle earthy colors and has a lovely matte finish.  We will discuss different types of porcelain available and learn how to cut these supplies using different tools.  This type of natural looking tile lends itself well to both traditional and modern designs.  A tools and materials list will be provided.
