Biography

 

Born in Pennsylvania, Anita Bucsay Damron is primarily a self taught artist taking an expressionistic approach to color and texture. She has studied under Pam Coulter Blehert, Trisha Adams, Robert Burridge, Paula Wachsstock and Ariel Shoemaker.
 
Anita's art is influenced by her studies of the masters as well as contemporary artists, her Hungarian heritage, her early artistic upbringing, and above all her faith.  Her most popular works are embellished abstract floral pieces painted in acrylics, and assemblage mosaics comprised of a variety of materials including glass, ceramics, stone, metal, bone, horn, polymers, and found objects.
 
In addition to her work as an artist, Anita has worked in the art industry as a gallery manager, an art consultant, an art teacher, and an artist coach.  Anita's artwork has been featured at numerous art galleries and shops, including:  The Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA; The Workhouse Art Center in Lorton, VA; GRACE (The Greater Reston Arts Center) in Reston, VA and General Goods in Andover, MA.  She is currently a member of GRACE, The Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA), The Art League Gallery (Torpedo Factory) and has served on the board of the League of Reston Artists (LRA).
